The Geography of Conflict Diamonds: The Case of Sierra Leone

Bianica Pires Andrew Crooks | Published Thursday, March 24, 2016 | Last modified Thursday, March 24, 2016

Using Sierra Leone as a test case, the purpose of the model is to explore the role of geography in a resource-driven war. An ABM is integrated with geographic information systems (GIS) for this purpose.

Micro-level Adaptation, Macro-level Selection, and the Dynamics of Market Partitioning

Cesar Garcia-Diaz | Published Monday, October 19, 2015 | Last modified Monday, October 19, 2015

This model simulates the emergence of a dual market structure from firm-level interaction. Firms are profit-seeking, and demand is represented by a unimodal distribution of consumers along a set of taste positions.

Agent-based model of intergroup conflict in divided communities.

This model was design to test parameters that affects the number of people shot during mass shooting. This basic formulation places a gunman in a crowd and allows the users to manipulate parameters of the gunman.

The dynamic agent-based model of market of single commodity and process of setting of prices

Mark Voronovitsky | Published Saturday, January 24, 2009 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

The dynamic agent based model of system which turn out the self-adjusting system, are considered in this text.

FLOSSSim: An Agent-Based Model of the Free/Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) Development Process

Nicholas Radtke | Published Saturday, December 31, 2011 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

An agent-based model of the Free/Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) development process designed around agents selecting FLOSS projects to contribute to and/or download.

Walk This Way

Crooks Andrew Sarah Wise | Published Thursday, August 27, 2015

The purpose of this model is to enhance a basic ABM through a simple set of rules identified using the activity-driven models in order to produce more realistic patterns of pedestrian movement.

This theoretical model includes forested polygons and three types of agents: forest landowners, foresters, and peer leaders. Agent rules and characteristics were parameterized from existing literature and an empirical survey of forest landowners.

Three policy scenarios for urban expansion under the influences of the behaviours and decision modes of four agents and their interactions have been applied to predict the future development patterns of the Guangzhou metropolitan region.

Diffusion dynamics in small-world networks with heterogeneous consumers

Sebastiano Delre | Published Saturday, September 10, 2011 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

This model simulates diffusion curves and it allows to test how social influence, network structure and consumer heterogeneity affect their spreads and their speeds.
