Our mission is to help computational modelers develop, document, and share their computational models in accordance with community standards and good open science and software engineering practices. Model authors can publish their model source code in the Computational Model Library with narrative documentation as well as metadata that supports open science and emerging norms that facilitate software citation, computational reproducibility / frictionless reuse, and interoperability. Model authors can also request private peer review of their computational models. Models that pass peer review receive a DOI once published.
All users of models published in the library must cite model authors when they use and benefit from their code.

This model aims to study the dynamic propagation of individual behaviour within social networks, focusing on how normative expectations (NE) and experiential expectations (EE) jointly influence behavioural decisions. It also explores the long-term effects of different intervention scenarios (such as enhancing visibility, considering indirect social links, and education) on behavioural propagation patterns and the overall behaviour of the group.
The model was developed in NetLogo 6.4. It generates simulated groups based on large-scale survey data, utilizing NetLogo’s CSV, Table, and Matrix extensions. The model also employs the NW extension to enable network analysis functionality.

An empirically calibrated agent-based model of cooperation among 14 EU member states. Adaptive state-agents update their cooperation propensity through behavioural inertia, influence along the observed intra-EU trade network (IMF bilateral flows), and repeated-game payoff indicators built from verified Eurostat, Eurobarometer and IMF data (2021-2024). An anchored logistic mapping makes the observed configuration stationary in the absence of shocks, so outcomes read as deviations from the empirical baseline. The model stress-tests European cooperation to 2040 under five scenarios of increasing severity, from a baseline to a Taiwan Strait crisis counterfactual, with 1,000 Monte Carlo replications and a full sensitivity suite (one-factor-at-a-time, joint parameter sampling, breaking-point analysis, alternative functional form). Documented with the ODD protocol; self-testing and fully reproducible under fixed seeds.
The O.R.E. (Opinions on Risky Events) model describes how a population of interacting individuals process information about a risk of natural catastrophe. The institutional information gives the official evaluation of the risk; the agents receive this communication, process it and also speak to each other processing further the information. The description of the algorithm (as it appears also in the paper) can be found in the attached file OREmodel_description.pdf.
The code (ORE_model.c), written in C, is commented. Also the datasets (inputFACEBOOK.txt and inputEMAILs.txt) of the real networks utilized with this model are available.

This model examines an important but underappreciated mechanism affecting urban segregation and integration: urban venues. The venue- an area where urbanites interact- is an essential aspect of city life that tends to influence how satisfactory any location is. We study the venue/segregation relationship by installing venues into Schelling’s classic agent-based segregation model.

This is an urban dynamics ABM of abstraction of a city and residents’ activities there.
It allows you to evaluate the effects of urban policies, such as an introduction of an open facility for residents with pedestrian-friendly accommodations, promotion of bicycle use, and control of private automobile use in an urban central area, in controlling urban sprawl.
Model of the Corona pandemic outbreak
The COVID-19 ABM aims to predict the qualitative behaviour of the CoViD-19 epidemic dynamics for the greater region of Salzburg City. Specifically, by means of scenario testing, it aims to help assessing how containment interventions can allow a stepwise relaxation of the lockdown without risking a new outbreak.
The SimPioN model aims to abstractly reproduce and experiment with the conditions under which a path-dependent process may lead to a (structural) network lock-in in interorganisational networks.
Path dependence theory is constructed around a process argumentation regarding three main elements: a situation of (at least) initially non-ergodic (unpredictable with regard to outcome) starting conditions in a social setting; these become reinforced by the workings of (at least) one positive feedback mechanism that increasingly reduces the scope of conceivable alternative choices; and that process finally results in a situation of lock-in, where any alternatives outside the already adopted options become essentially impossible or too costly to pursue despite (ostensibly) better options theoretically being available.
The purpose of SimPioN is to advance our understanding of lock-ins arising in interorganisational networks based on the network dynamics involving the mechanism of social capital. This mechanism and the lock-ins it may drive have been shown above to produce problematic consequences for firms in terms of a loss of organisational autonomy and strategic flexibility, especially in high-tech knowledge-intensive industries that rely heavily on network organising.

Norms@Risk ABM aim is to develop an explanation for the conditions under which people jointly take action to prevent disasters from happening, e.g. impacts from climate crisis, pandemic. The aim of the Norms@Risk work is to explore understudied dynamics between risk, social norms and cooperative behaviour and their role in overcoming collective threats. More specifically, Norms@Risk seeks to refine existing theory on cooperation by unpacking the role of collective risk interacting with social norms in ‘Collective Risk Social Dilemmas’*.
This simulation study takes on the next scientific iteration after a series of behavioural experiments. With the model we target to refine existing theory by capturing the heterogeneity in contributions that existing theories cannot fully explain as the behavioural responses are assumed to be more homogenous, particularly diversity regarding sensitivity to risk and norms.
*Collective Risk Social Dilemmas reflect a special type of social dilemma, unlike typical public goods, the collective risk dilemma involves individual contribution not to realise a gain, but to avoid a collective loss.
