This model explores a social mechanism that links the reversal of the gender gap in education with changing patterns in relative divorce risks in 12 European countries.

A Simulation of Entrepreneurial Spawning

Mark Bagley | Published Wednesday, June 08, 2016 | Last modified Friday, June 30, 2017

Industrial clustering patterns are the result of an entrepreneurial process where spinoffs inherit the ideas and attributes of their parent firms. This computational model maps these patterns using abstract methodologies.

THE STATUS ARENA

Gert Jan Hofstede Jillian Student Mark R Kramer | Published Wednesday, June 08, 2016 | Last modified Tuesday, January 09, 2018

Status-power dynamics on a playground, resulting in a status landscape with a gender status gap. Causal: individual (beauty, kindness, power), binary (rough-and-tumble; has-been-nice) or prior popularity (status). Cultural: acceptability of fighting.

Peer reviewed Evolution of Sex

Kristin Crouse | Published Sunday, June 05, 2016 | Last modified Monday, February 15, 2021

Evolution of Sex is a NetLogo model that illustrates the advantages and disadvantages of sexual and asexual reproductive strategies. It seeks to demonstrate the answer to the question “Why do we have sex?”

This model illustrates how the effective population size and the rate of change in mean skill level of a cultural trait are affected by the presence of natural selection and/or the cultural transmission mechanism by which it is passed.

SimPLS - The PLS Agent

Iris Lorscheid Sandra Schubring Matthias Meyer Christian Ringle | Published Monday, April 18, 2016 | Last modified Tuesday, May 17, 2016

The simulation model SimPLS shows an application of the PLS agent concept, using SEM as empirical basis for the definition of agent architectures. The simulation model implements the PLS path model TAM about the decision of using innovative products.

Food supply chain innovations under public pressure

Tim Verwaart Wil Hennen Jan Buurma | Published Friday, April 15, 2016 | Last modified Tuesday, November 27, 2018

Aroused public opinion has led to public debates on social responsibility issues in food supply chains. This model based op opinion dynamics and the linkages between involved actors simulates the public debate leading to the transitions.

Multi-level model of attitudinal dynamics

Ingo Wolf | Published Wednesday, April 06, 2016 | Last modified Wednesday, May 04, 2016

A model of attitudinal dynamics based on the cognitive mechanism of emotional coherence. The code is written in Java. For initialization an additional dataset is required.

This is an agent-based model of the implementation of the self-enforcing agreement in cooperative teams.
