In line with the UFZ’s strategic vision to develop interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary solutions for a sustainable future, we are offering three international research fellowships to be completed …
A leading computational research team seeks candidates—starting September/October 2025 and willing to relocate to Norway—who can work independently and collaboratively on simulation models and stakeholder-friendly interfaces. Senior Researchers will lead tasks and work packages, publish high-impact papers, and oversee project deliverables, while all team members are expected to produce high-quality research, author scientific articles, and present results internationally.
The Department of Management at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for a 3-year postdoc position in the Novo Nordisk Foundation-funded project “PlantTip” focusing on modelling food consumer behavior and policy responses.
The position comes with an earmarked travel and training budget, and will be part of a generally well-funded project with access to HPCs and local LLMs. The position is full-time research but teaching can be negotiated if candidates are interested.
Dates & Times
June 8 - July 4 , 2025.
Program Goals
Develop a deeper understanding of the theory and methods used to describe and predict the behavior of complex systems.
Explore the latest applications of complex systems science to diverse research questions.
Collaborate on a transdisciplinary research project in complex systems science.
Connect with future colleagues and collaborators and the SFI research community.
The ERC project ARISER (Access to crop diversity and small farms’ resilience to climate variability in African drylands: The role of seed and information networks, https://www.ariser.org/en) is seeking for a postdoctoral research fellow experienced in the modelling of social-ecological systems
POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are looking to recruit a postdoctoral scholar for a two-year position in an interdisciplinary NSF-funded research project (#2020751). A premise of the work is that open source …
The University of Idaho CRC invites applications for a Post Doctoral Scientist for interdisciplinary research related to human adaptation to, and perceptions of, climate change. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team of social, environmental, and computational scientists, and stakeholders, on a NSF funded 4-year project focused on Local and Place Based Adaptation to Climate Change in Underserved Rural Communities.
This person will help design, develop, communicate and apply bird sub-models of an Agent Based Model to simulate effects of interacting stressors on least bells vireos (an endangered bird species found in southern California). This video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0DQPcSk-Qg) provides a 1/2 hour project summary. Ideal candidates will be familiar with ABM and have strong scientific writing skills. Questions can be directed to Dr. Pat Zollner.
This postdoc will work with all collaborators under the direction of Dr. Pat Zollner to develop an Agent Based Model of the behaviors of cage free chickens. This work will be informed by extensive empirical work and will use ODD & TRACE for documentation to compare alternative cage free housing systems based on chicken welfare and laying of eggs outside nest boxes. Work will incorporate perspectives from industry as well as interested non-governmental organizations.
