A simplified Arthur & Polak logic circuit model of combinatory technology build-out via incremental development. Only some inventions trigger radical effects, suggesting they depend on whole interdependent systems rather than specific innovations.

ACT: Agent-based model of Critical Transitions

Oscar Kraan Steven Dalderop Gert Jan Kramer Igor Nikolic | Published Wed Oct 18 14:20:29 2017 | Last modified Mon Aug 27 13:51:30 2018

ACT is an ABM based on an existing conceptualisation of the concept of critical transitions applied to the energy transition. With the model we departed from the mean-field approach simulated relevant actor behaviour in the energy transition.

This model allows for analyzing the most efficient levers for enhancing the use of recycled construction materials, and the role of empirically based decision parameters.

Generic servicising model (SPREE project)

Reinier Van Der Veen Kasper H Kisjes Igor Nikolic | Published Wed Aug 26 15:56:24 2015 | Last modified Wed Sep 28 12:06:21 2016

This generic agent-based model allows the user to simulate and explore the influence of servicising policies on the uptake of servicising and on economic, environmental and social effects, notably absolute decoupling.

Electricity consumer behaviour due to different smart metering policies is simulated. Consumers are modelled as household agents having dynamic preferences on types of electricity contracts offered by the energy supplier.
