5G Diffusion Agent-Based Simulation with Proposed Collaboration Model for Infrastructure Challenges 1.0.0

The next generation for mobile wireless communication 5G is at an early stage in Indonesia since May 2021. While preparing for infrastructures such as spectrum frequency migration, build transport networks and competent human resources, a model of technology diffusion is created to show the stakeholders some options for strategic planning. This study offers novelty and originality in methodology, model improvement and finding. Previous interviews focus discussion groups and survey questionnaires were conducted to the respondents as the empirical basis for model building and assumptions. The survey results for 5G diffusion of innovation shows deviation with log normal distribution, compared to common belief of normal distribution. The model introduces three Mobile Network Operator (MNO) competitions to gain subscribers. The conclusion shows MNO sharing, government incentives, co-development & co-innovation, and local government participation in 5G development impacting the diffusion time 34% and faster for both individuals and industry adopters

Release Notes

This model shows diffusion of 5G for number of adopters. The user can select input for number of people as well as sliders, distribution parameters and average rate per user. The results are the number of adopters and revenue per mobile network operator.
