Dr. Chairi Kiourt is a research associate with the ATHENA - Research and Innovation Centre in Information, Communication and Knowledge Technologies - Xanthi’s Division, multimedia department since 2014. Also, as of December 2017, heis PostDoctoral researcher with the Hellenic Open University, School of Science and Technology, and as of 2018, visiting Lecturer at the Department of Informatics Engineering, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology, Greece.
In 2003, he received his BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the Electrical Engineering Department of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology, Greece. He also received an M.Sc. in System Engineering and Management in the specialty area: A. Information and Communication Systems Management from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. In 2017, received his PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering from the Hellenic Open University. He has participated in several national and European research programs and co- authored to the writing of several scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences with judges in the fields of collective artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems, reinforcement learning agents, virtual worlds, virtual museums and gamification.

• Since 2010: Associate Professor in Artificial Intelligence at Grenoble-Alpes University. Topic: human behaviour modelling, with a particular focus on emotions, cognitive biases, and their interplay with decision-making; social simulations and serious games for raising awareness about natural disasters and sustainable development, or for increasing civil engagement in urban planning.

• 2007-2008: research engineer at Orange Labs, Lannion, France. Supervisor: Vincent Louis. Topic: institutional logic in JADE for agent-based B2B mediation.
• 2007: PhD in AI from Toulouse University. Supervisors: Andreas Herzig and Dominique Longin. Topic: logical modelling of emotions in BDI for artificial agents.

Gary Polhill did a degree in Artificial Intelligence and a PhD in Neural Networks before spending 18 months in industry as a professional programmer. Since 1997 he has been working at the Institute on agent-based modelling of human-natural systems, and has worked on various international and interdisciplinary projects using agent-based modelling to study agricultural systems, lifestyles, and transitions to more sustainable ways of living. In 2016, he was elected President of the European Social Simulation Association, and was The James Hutton Institute’s 2017 Science Challenge Leader on Developing Technical and Social Innovations that Support Sustainable and Resilient Communities.

Doctor and Magister in Informatics by the Girona University (Spain), Telematics Engineer and Systems Technologist by the Francisco José de Caldas University (Bogotá, Colombia), Specialist in Databases Management, and Specialist in Higher Education. Currently, associate professor and researcher at the Fundación Universitaria Konrad Lorenz (Bogotá, Colombia). Academic leader of the Konrad IA project (IA - Artificial Intelligence). CoMSES.Net is a good community space to share knowledge regarding agent based and computational models that are built based upon a wide variety of contexts (social, political, educational, scientific, biological, etc.). Thus, the CoMSES.Net should be known in all regions around the world. Moreover, as I belong to the Spanish-speaking community, it would be very interesting to publicize what the network does in Spanish-speaking countries.

Dr. Aaron Bramson is principal investigator of the AI Strategy Center of GA technologies in Tokyo, Japan, as well as an Affiliate Researcher in the Department of General Economics of Ghent University in Belgium. His research specialty is complexity science, especially methodologies for modeling complex systems. Research topics span across disciplines: measures of polarization and diversity, belief measure interoperability, integrating geospatial and network analyses for measuring walkability and neighborhood identification, and myriad applications in artificial intelligence and data visualization. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in a joint program with the departments of Political Science and Philosophy as well as an M.S. in Mathematics from Northeastern University.
