Post-Doctoral Research Associate position, University of Edinburgh

We are recruiting a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join the UKRI FLF project ‘Simulating the impact of first responder communication strategies on citizen adherence in emergencies’. The role is ideal for someone who wants to develop their research leadership and engage with audiences inside and outside of academia. The role requires the candidate to have mixed methods experience in group processes, ideally within evacuation or other emergency contexts.

We are seeking someone who will be excited about the research topic, and who will make the most of the opportunity to build their research profile and skills. We have a vibrant, supportive interdisciplinary team so we want someone who will be engaged with the whole team and who has experience incorporating input from multiple disciplines. The nature of the project is that we have core research plans, but new opportunities often arise, so the role would suit someone who is organised, proactive, and responsive to new opportunities.

The project includes funding for the candidate to attend national, European and international conferences and workshops. The role also has dedicated time for professional development (e.g., methodological training, knowledge exchange and impact training, grant writing).
The role runs for 31 months but we hope that the candidate would join us in writing funding applications to continue the work beyond that period.

The closing date for applications is 22nd June, and we hope for the candidate to start August/September (negotiable). Informal questions can be sent via email to [email protected].
