Job Description
The Koch Lab is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work with an interdisciplinary team of researchers on the integrated modeling of the Rio Grande Basin. The position is part of the project “Improving Resilience for the Rio Grande Coupled Human-Natural System”, funded by the USGS and will focus on the development, implementation, and application of a spatio-temporal simulation model for the Rio Grande Basin. The Postdoctoral Researcher will work with anthropologists and economists to identify important socio-economic and biophysical components of the system under study. This knowledge will then be used in a simulation model – based on the Envision framework – in order to analyze the relationship between human decision making, climate change and hydrology in the basin.

Required Qualifications
• Ph.D. in Hydrology, Geoecology, Environmental Sciences, Geography, or a related field
• Experience in hydrological modeling and/or integrated modeling
• Programming skills (preferably C++) and a strong computational background
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus
• Willingness to participate in interdisciplinary research is a prerequisite
