Applications are invited for a 24 month postdoctoral research assistant for an agent-based modelling project in collaboration with Professor Doyne Farmer and the INET research team. The post is available from 1 April 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be based in the Institute for New Economic Thinking and is funded by Amlin.
The successful applicant will take a leading role in developing agent-based models in economics, including models relevant to the insurance industry. The applicant is expected to take a leading role in both the code development and in coordinating the underlying science associated with it.
With a PhD awarded, or a Masters degree and PhD submitted (at the time of taking up the position) in mathematics or a related discipline, you will have significant prior programming experience, experience with, or strong interest in, agent-based modelling, and the ability to work independently.
