Job Summary:

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as Senior Research Assistant in its Environment and Production Technology Division (EPTD). This is a one-year, fixed-term, exempt, renewable appointment. The position will be based in Washington DC with travel overseas as needed. The successful candidate will support senior research staff in EPTD and will work on field experiments and the development of agent-based modeling tools for South and Southeast Asia and Africa.

Essential Duties:

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Development of components of agent-based modeling tools
• Coupling of agent-based modeling tools with models for crop growth, land cover, and hydrology (e.g., DSSAT, SWAT)
• Assist in planning for field activities including the development of research protocols, finalization of design documents, submission of IRB forms, development of research instruments (framed field experiments, discrete choice experiments, and household surveys), planning for all field work logistics
• Assisting with in-country training of data collection teams, and implementation of data collection in developing countries
• The organization, cleaning, manipulation and analysis of household data sets and qualitative data
• Preparation of tables, graphs, and other outputs for reports
• Assistance in the preparation project deliverables, briefs and papers
• Other duties as assigned
