“Z_GIS online compact” are academic short courses that are delivered online by the University of Salzburg, Austria. One course lasts for three months and is worth 6 ECTS credits, according to the European credit system. Lecturers: Gudrun Wallentin and Christian Neuwirth.
The “Spatial Simulation” course introduces to agent-based modelling and cellular automata to solve applied complex problems. With these methods, participants can complement their skillset and get new impetus for their research or professional work. The course will be based on GAMA (GIS and Agent-based Modelling Architecture), an open-source simulation platform that is particularly strong in working with GIS data and analyses.
