You are invited to participate in the biennial World Congress on Social Simulation (WCSS).

The conference is in São Paulo, Brazil, November 47, 2014.

Computational Social Science (CSS) is a scientific discipline where computational methods and simulation models are employed to offer new insights into social phenomena beyond what is available with traditional social science methods.

The WCSS is sponsored by the three regional scientific associations on social simulations: ESSA (the European Social Simulation Association), PAAA (PanAsian Association for Agentbased Approach in Social Systems Sciences) and CSSSA (Computational Social Science Society of the Americas). The goal of WCSS is to bring together researchers and practitioners from the social and computational sciences to share theoretical advances, practical applications, social media analyses, and novel methods in computational social science.

Submissions:

The WCCS program committee invites papers and posters concerning computational models of social phenomena. Models from all social science disciplines are welcomed.

All submissions, including posters, will be subject to peer review.

Papers and posters can be submitted for review at the easyChair system. Submit paper sand Register for the conference at : http://www.wcss2014.pcs.usp.br/

Papers:

Papers should be submitted in Springer’s ‘Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS)’ format. Papers should be no more than 12 pages including bibliography and all figures. The ODD (Overview, Design Concepts, and Details) protocol may be used to document submitted models (see http://www.ufz.de/index.php?de=10466). The ODD is optional and will not be counted toward the 12 page limit.

Posters:

Poster submissions require only an 800 word abstract. They should be clearly marked as poster submissions.

Paper Publication:

Outstanding submissions presented in WCSS2014 will be published by Springer the WCSS proceedings.
