Postdoctoral fellowship in computational social sciences

Postdoctoral fellowship in computational social sciences Linnaeus University, Växjö, Sweden http://lnu.se/about-lnu/jobs-and-vacancies?l=en

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher who will contribute to the establishment of a computational social science research group with a main (but not exclusive) focus on environmental issues. We are planning to both exploit the richness of existing data resulting from online interactions and to design and implement web-experiments. We seek candidates who are enthusiastic about the use and analysis of big data.
A good expertise in experimental methods, social simulation or network analysis also represents an advantage.

The position is based at the Department of Social Studies but is also linked to a university-level strategy focusing on both “big data” and sustainability, and to the establishment of a competence centre for data-intensive applications.

The position is for two years and involves a maximum of 20% of teaching with a competitive, international-level salary. Applicants should have received a PhD no more than three years before the application deadline and must not have previously been employed as a postdoctoral fellow for more than a year in the same or related subject area at Linnaeus University.

The application (in English) should contain a CV the names of two referees (with telephone numbers and e-mail), a description of motivation and experience relevant to the research project and any other documentation that the applicant would like to present. Application should arrive no later than March 31, 2016. To apply, please follow the instructions in:
