The 14th ESHIA/WEHIA will be held in China on June 18-20, 2009. The Organizing Committee cordially invites you to take part in the conference. We welcome papers dealing with computational and mathematical representations of economic and social processes in which the role of individual agents is explicit. We expect to have both methodological sessions and domain-specific ones.

Conference schedule
Important days:
The applicants should submit papers or abstracts through website http://www.eshia2009.org/ or via E-mail: [email protected], also welcome any queries. Dates are as follows:
5 May 2009: abstracts due
10 May 2009: acceptances announced
Accepted papers would have at least one author to attend the conference; otherwise, these papers will not be considered in the program. The best papers will be published in the Journal of Economic Interaction and Coordination.
15 May 2009: program announced, and payment due
18 June 2009: conference kicks off
20 June 2009: conference closing

Conference Format:
Conference language is English. Typically, authors have 20 minutes to present their papers with another 10 minutes for questions and answers. They are encouraged to use slides to ease and enhance mutual understanding across the language barrier. Sessions are 90-120 minutes long and are organized to cover 3 to 4 highly related papers. You may register to attend the full conference without presenting. The conference format is subject to change.

Conference venue
The conference venue is the Yingdong Lecture Hall of Beijing Normal University. All participants will stay in the hotels on or near the campus.

Conference Cost and Payment:
Once your proposal is accepted you will be invited to submit your registration fee.

The fee paid before 15 May 2009 by wire transfer or credit card (will be available soon):
o 2000 RMB Yuan (300 $) for university participants,
o 3000 RMB Yuan (450 $) for business sector participants.
The fee for additional paper is 1000 RMB Yuan (150 $).
The fee covers admission to Conference sessions, conference materials, lunches, coffee breaks, conference dinner, conference proceedings and one-year membership fee of ESHIA (75 ?, including annual subscription of Journal of Economic Interaction and Coordination).
The fee will be raised 500 RMB Yuan (60 $ )after 15May 2009.The fee paid on site only can be in cash, no credit or debit cards allowed:

Financial support
A limited financial support will be available in a form of reduced conference fee. Participants needing such a support should send a letter of request to Organizing Committee before 15 May 2009.
