I am an environmental archaeologist, specializing in charcoal analysis, computational and analytical proxy modeling, and quantitative methods to understand the dynamic relationship between fire, humans, and long-term environmental change. I work primarily in the Western United States and the Western Mediterranean. I am passionate about our public lands and ensuring that everyone has access and opportunity to experience them.

I develop simulation tools for generating what-if scenarios for decision making. I predominantly use Agent-Based Modelling (ABM) technique as most of my simulations model complex systems. In some cases, I have extended existing tools with modifications to model the given system. Although the tools are meant for research purposes, I have followed industry friendly delivery mechanisms, such as unit-tests, automated builds and delivery on cloud platforms.

I live in Salento (South Italy) the tiny land between two seas, where I work as a teacher in a school for adults.
My education includes a degree in Life Sciences; in my post-graduate training, I have been involved in searching for the genetic and molecular responses of cells to environmental and genomic stresses. Now, I am mainly interested in approaching theoretical biology and complex adaptive systems through agent-based modelling.
