An Agent-Based Model of Internet Diffusion Under General and Specific Network Externalities

Filiz Garip | Published Friday, April 27, 2012 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

Using nodes from the 2002 General Social Survey sample, the code establishes a network of ties with a given homophily bias, and simulates Internet adoption rates in that network under three conditions: (i) no network externalities, (ii) general network externalities, where an individual’s reservation price is a function of the overall adoption rate in the network, (iii) specific network externalities, where reservation price is a function of the adoption rate in individual’s personal […]

Socio-spatial segregation in Salzburg, Austria

Andreas Koch | Published Friday, September 25, 2009 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

This is a first preliminary simulation model to model segregation in the city of Salzburg, Austria.

DIAL1.0

P Dykstra | Published Wednesday, November 28, 2012 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

DIAL is a model of group dynamics and opinion dynamics. It features dialogues, in which agents put their reputation at stake. Intra-group radicalisation of opinions appears to be an emergent phenomenon.

The model explores the emergence of inequality in cognitive and socio-emotional skills at the societal level within and across generations that results from differences in parental investment behavior during childhood and adolescence.

A-KinGDom simulates the emergence of the social structure in a group of non-human primates. The model includes dominance and affiliative interactions which allow us to define four different attack and affiliative strategies.

Social and Task Interdependencies in Innovation Implementation

Spiro Maroulis Uri Wilensky | Published Tuesday, June 04, 2013 | Last modified Tuesday, March 04, 2014

This is a model of innovation implementation inside an organization. It characterizes an innovation as a set of distributed and technically interdependent tasks performed by a number of different and socially interconnected frontline workers.

We construct an agent-based model to investigate and understand the roles of green attachment, engagement in local ecological investment (i.e., greening), and social feedback.

Modeling financial networks based on interpersonal trust

Anna Klabunde Michael Roos | Published Wednesday, May 29, 2013 | Last modified Thursday, November 28, 2013

We build a stylized model of a network of business angel investors and start-up entrepreneurs. Decisions are based on trust as a decision making tool under true uncertainty.

This multi-model (i.e. a model composed of interacting submodels) is a multi-level representation of a collective motion phenomenon. It was designed to study the impact of the mutual influences between individuals and groups in collective motion.

Peer reviewed An Agent-Based Model of Status Construction in Task Focused Groups

André Grow Andreas Flache Rafael Wittek | Published Sunday, May 18, 2014 | Last modified Tuesday, June 16, 2015

The model simulates interactions in small, task focused groups that might lead to the emergence of status beliefs among group members.
