Perceived Scientific Value and Impact Factor

Davide Secchi Stephen J Cowley | Published Wed Apr 12 03:29:15 2017 | Last modified Mon Jan 29 09:45:53 2018

The model explores the impact of journal metrics (e.g., the notorious impact factor) on the perception that academics have of an article’s scientific value.

This is a stylized model based on Alonso’s model investigating the relationship between urban sprawl and income segregation.

Will it spread or not? The effects of social influences and network topology on innovation diffusion

Sebastiano Delre | Published Mon Oct 24 16:25:38 2011 | Last modified Sat Apr 27 20:18:53 2013

This models simulates innovation diffusion curves and it tests the effects of the degree and the direction of social influences. This model replicates, extends and departs from classical percolation models.

Urban-Dynamics-2017

Hideyuki Nagai Setsuya Kurahashi | Published Thu Oct 6 04:56:19 2016 | Last modified Thu Oct 6 05:06:56 2016

This model is designed for the paper of “Bustle Changes the City - Facility for Stopping off and Modeling Urban Dynamics -“. And all experimental results in the paper were implemented in this model.

The model explores how two types of information - social (in the form of pheromone trails) and private (in the form of route memories) affect ant colony level foraging in a variable enviroment.

This ABM simulates opinions on a topic (originally contested infrastructures) through the interactions between paired agents and based on the sociopsychological assumptions of social judgment theory (SJT; Sherif & Hovland, 1961).

Diffusion of Innovations on Social Networks

Hang Xiong | Published Sat Apr 16 19:29:11 2016

This is model that simulates how multiple kinds of peer effects shape the diffusion of innovations through different types of social relationships.

CRESY-I stands for CREativity from a SYstems perspetive, Model I. This is the base model in a series designed to describe a systems approach to creativity in terms of variation, selection and retention (VSR) subprocesses.

BehaviorSpace tutorial model

Colin Wren | Published Wed Mar 23 22:38:22 2016

This is based off my previous Profiler tutorial model, but with an added tutorial on converting it into a model usable with BehaviorSpace, and creating a BehaviorSpace experiment.

The Geography of Conflict Diamonds: The Case of Sierra Leone

Bianica Pires Andrew Crooks | Published Thu Mar 24 18:59:16 2016 | Last modified Thu Mar 24 19:09:35 2016

Using Sierra Leone as a test case, the purpose of the model is to explore the role of geography in a resource-driven war. An ABM is integrated with geographic information systems (GIS) for this purpose.
